Tyrone’s Mattie Donnelly is unlikely to face sanction from GAA authorities following his apparent striking of Derry’s Chrissy McKaigue during Sunday’s Ulster SFC clash in Celtic Park.
It is understood that GAA disciplinary bosses have deemed the video evidence of the incident to be ‘inconclusive’.
It appeared that the Trillick club man appeared to raise his hand towards the face of the Derry defender in the second half of Sunday’s clash, Laois referee Maurice Deegan opted to take no action. Leaving the disciplinary committee available to take retrospective action if they see fit.
The incident somewhat overshadowed Sunday’s one sided contest were Tyrone ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 0-22 to 0-11.
