Laois Junior C sides Rathdowney and Errill will contest the Laois Junior C, County Final on December 26th. Yes, St.Stephen’s Day, one day after Christmas Day!!

Both sides played their semi-final games a mere five months ago. On July 26th Errill were comfortable winners against O’Dempsey’s winning on a scoreline of 3-13 to 0-8. While their opponents Rathdowney defeated Castletown by four points to advance to the final, only three days later on July 29th.

Errill will go into the contest off the back of three extra rest days bringing the total amount of time between their Semi Final and Final to 156 days, a massive advantage in comparison to Rathdowney only having the 153 days between the Semi and the Final.

In games of this magnitude one would expect that the extra three days rest could prove to be pivotal and spur Errill on to a late Christmas present. However, word is that the Rathdowney men have done immense amounts of recovery in the intervening months and will be fully fit for the decider!!
