QUALIFIER DRAW PITS ‘BANTY’ AGAINST NATIVE COUNTY

Monday morning’s Round 2B Qualifier draw has through up an interesting tie as Monaghan travel to Wexford. The interesting sub-plot being Wexford are managed by Farney native and former boss Seamus McEnaney.

‘Banty’ will be hoping to get on over on his native county after they crashed out of the Ulster Championship on Saturday evening a surprise loss to Down. Monaghan’s last venture into the Qualifiers last season came after crashing out at the same stage before being shocked by Longford in Clones.

McEnaney managed the Farney men from 2004 to 2010, making an appearance in the Ulster Final in 2007 losing out to Tyrone.

The game will take place on Saturday July 8th at Innovate Wexford Park, with a 3pm throw in.
