Tyrone Back On Track With UUJ Win

Man of the Match Lee Brennan kicked seven points.
Tyrone got back their 2017 back to winning ways with a thirteen point win over UUJ in Carrickmore today.
Lee Brennan top scored contributing seven points, six of which came from play and claiming the man of the match accolade.
The hosts got off to a bright start with Brennan kicking two fine long range points. Gallagher and McHugh traded scores before full forward Niall McKenna fisted the ball into the students net to give his side a four point lead with sixteen minutes played.
Gallagher and Harte kept the scoreboard ticking over for both sides before Niall Madine fisted a high ball past Mickey O’Neill in the Tyrone goal making it a one point game with a minute to the break.
O’Brien pointed for the students while McHugh and McKenna ensured the hosts held a two point lead at the break on a scoreline of 1-8 to 1-6.
Johnathan Monroe had the honour of representing his county of his native Carrickmore pitch.
O’Brien’s score was to be the students last for twenty five minutes as the Red Hands resumed control, McHugh netting four minutes after the break to stretch the lead to five.
Brennan and McClure raised the flag giving Tyrone a nine point lead before the students opened their account for the second half on the hour mark, a score which would prove to be their last of the game.
Ronan O’Neill was sprung from the bench and contributed a sharp three points before the final score of the game came from a long range pointed free from man of the match Brennan kicked from the ground. The scoreboard at the final whistle read Tyrone 2-17 UUJ 1-7.
